Andra Day and Andi Matichak
Cassandra Monique Batie, professionally known as Andra day is an American R&B singer-songwriter. Her accolades include a Grammy Award as well as the Children's and Family Emmy Award as well as a Golden Globe Award. She has also been nominated for the Academy Award. Andra is not only an old school R&B artist, but also a gospel singer. Her blues and jazz are displayed in a way that's effortless and sophisticated. Her first album, Cheers To The Autumn (2015), was an instant record in the hiphop/R&B genre that earned her a host of Grammy and Academy Award nominations. Stand Up for Something (2017) was her contribution to Marshall's soundtrack, earned her both awards. Amen and Make Your Troubles Away and The United States Versus Billie Holiday all have singles that are making fans wait for the arrival of her new album. Andra Day is the daughter of Cassandra Monique Batie and grew in Edmonds Washington. While in San Diego, she attended the School of Creative and Performing Arts as well as performed in church. In the years following her graduation, she began to lean towards contemporary R&B music, jazz and pop but found herself drawn back to jazz and soul vocalists of the earlier. An important break occurred in the form of a concert she gave was noticed by Kai Millard Morris who subsequently gave some of Day's tracks to her husband Stevie Wonder. Motown famous Adrian Gurvitz was introduced to Day by the Motown legend. Day's fan base on YouTube grew fast after she formed a team along with Gurvitz, Jeffrey Evans and Buskin. Day eventually signed a major label deal to Warner Bros. DJs began playing the track at the radio. She then was signed to Warner Bros. Records. Adrian Gurvitz produced her first album called Cheers to celebrate the fall. It featured the track Rise Up which is now a worldwide music video for social justice campaigns. Day was awarded two Grammy nominations in the categories for Best R&B Album for her album. Day released The United States Vs. Billie Holiday in 2019, a concept record about the life and work of the jazz icon Billie Holiday. The same year, she was a part-time actress in a biopic of Holiday's story, The United States vs. Billie Holiday (2021). Andi Mathichak was born America. Her career began in the television series Orange Is the New Black and 666 Park Avenue and Blue Bloods. Her first film role was as Allyson in the series of horror Halloween. Andi Matichak was an American actress, was born in Framingham in Massachusetts on the 3rd of May 1994.
