Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American actor and singer. Her early Broadway performances include Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. She was awarded her Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in the Play in the role of Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashley Tony Award winning actor and actress, has worked with directors, actors, and other performers on stage and screen for all of her career. Ashford's next project will be an exclusive Hulu series called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show will premiere on the 22nd of November and Ashford is starring alongside Kumail Najiani. Ashford is currently working on Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust which stars Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The film will stream on Disney's DTC platforms and will be available as a Hulu Original. Ashford will return in 2023, and will play opposite Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will lead the production. Ashford's latest part was that of Paula Jones on Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment. The show is based on the National scandal that featured Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky, and Linda Tripp. In two seasons, Ashford was a star of CBS's hit series B Positive. She also appeared in the popular series developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, that starred the legendary actresses Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Not a stranger to Broadway Ashford has been awarded both the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her character Essie. Other Broadway credits for Ashford include Sunday in the Park, with George Wicked legally Blonde, as well as the role of Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this role, she earned an Tony Award nomination. Ashford is a Denver origins native, and now splits her time between Los Angeles.
